Installation - IMU

IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) module contains one 3-axis gyroscope, one 3-axis accelerometer and a barometer.

Quick note:

Before proceeding unplug the tail servo from the receiver.

Make sure the location you choose to mount the IMU is leveled with the helicopter.

NOTE:

1 - When choosing the location of the IMU make sure the cable will reach the Main Controller or the in-line CAN-Bus port of the GPS/Compass.

2 - Do not mount the IMU upside down.

3 - The IMU is not waterproof

I used regular 3M double sided tape.

When mounting the IMU make sure it is parallel with the frames of the helicopter.

I used Velcro to back up the IMU.

Make sure the ventilation holes on either side of the IMU are not blocked.  This module does  get warm.

Notice the small arrow's direction on top of the IMU.  You will need this for configuring the software.

This is facing "back".

The IMU may be installed facing back, forward, right or left.
