FAILSAFE METHOD:
RETURN-TO-HOME
HOME is defined as
where GPS signal is first acquired upon powering up the
system and 30 meters (98 feet) above. More than
six satellites are required to record HOME.
When signal is lost,
or if FAILSAFE is manually initiated,
there are two routes the helicopter can take to return
HOME.
Scenario 1:
► If the helicopter is
above 30 meters it will hover for 10 seconds, turn
towards home and fly forward.
► When the helicopter
is 30 meters away from HOME it will slow down its
approach.
► When the helicopter
is above HOME it will then descend to 30 meters (98ft)
altitude and hold position.
Scenario 2:
► If the helicopter is
below 30 meters it will hover for 10 seconds,
simultaneously turn towards home and climb to
30 meters then fly forward.
► When the helicopter is
30 meters away from HOME it will slow down its approach.
► When
the helicopter is above HOME it will then hover and hold
position.
If
failsafe was manually initiated then control
is regained when FAILSAFE switch is
disabled and control mode toggled back
to manual.
NOTE: The speed it flies at
while "returning to home"
is determined by the Max Speed Limit values in Auto Pilot
section. Therefore if it is set to the fastest
speed then the flight back "home" will also be fast.
CAUTION: The helicopter
will fly straight towards home.
If this option is
enabled make sure to plan your flight to
ensure there are no obstacles
between HOME and the
helicopter.
